For Applicants
Individuals applying to become certified as a National Certified Guardian (NCG) must submit proof of guardian-related CEUs, based on the following criteria:
- high school graduate or GED equivalent: 30 hours of CGC approved coursework within two years prior to applying for certification;
- licensure in guardianship or certification in a field related to guardianship (for example, CFP, CPA, CMC, CCM): 20 hours of CGC approved coursework within two years prior to applying for certification;
- two-year degree in a field related to guardianship (for example, social work, criminal justice, accounting, nursing): 10 hours of CGC approved coursework within two years prior to applying for certification;
- four-year or higher degree in a field related to guardianship (for example, law, medical, social work, psychology, finance, business): 10 hours of CGC approved coursework within two years prior to applying for certification.
